The Council (previously Legionary Council) is the appointed or elected body of Eternal Vigilance that is charged with administration and management of the guild. The Council is made up of three appointed members: the Master of Civics, Master of Lore, and Master of Resources; and two elected Master Chancellors. Other than leading the guild, the Council also decides on matters of a guild-wide manner.

Council Discussion

The Council's chief venue of communication is the EV forums, within a private forum. The Council also occassionally engages in meetings over Xfire.

History of Communication

Historically, there have been instances were the Council has opened up the Council forums to Elders for read-only purposes. This ability was eventually removed because too many Elders felt compelled, but were unable, to comment on matters that the Council was discussing. In our modern day mechanics we account for this by keeping the Chief Elder up to date on matters so that he may better direct the course of Elder discussions.

Voting Mechanics

The Council regularly holds votes among its Councilors in order to decide the course of its decision-making. Pursuant to the Guild Charter, the following holds true in regards to voting mechanics:

  • There are two elected Master Chancellors on the Council, and each individual MC's vote is weighted as two votes. This was done so that the elected portion of the Council can outweigh the non-elected portion.
  • There are three non-elected Councilors: the Master of Civics, Master of Lore, and Master of Resources. Each individual non-elected Councilor's vote counts as one vote.
