The Path to Joining Eternal Vigilance
“Too often we are so preoccupied with the destination, we forget the journey.”
Welcome to our forums!
We are happy to see that you are expressing an interest in joining Eternal Vigilance. We have all been faced with the same decision as you, at one point or another, and believe us; we don't regret making the choice we did!
It is important to understand that Eternal Vigilance thinks of itself as a family, and therefore we put a lot of importance on the types of people we invite into the fold. We like to see applicants put forth an effort, to show enthusiasm, and maturity. If you're inexperienced with either the game you are applying for, or with the idea of joining a multi-gaming guild, don't worry! We were all inexperienced at one point and we would love to help you grow into becoming a productive, able-bodied member. That's not the issue, so don't feel the need to impress us with trivialities that all members are capable of attaining. We simply seek well-rounded personalities that we will enjoy having at our side - after all, your time in Eternal Vigilance is likely to transcend any one game, so this is a big decision for everyone involved!
So let us begin the process of describing what you need to do in order to join (note that you can find more details
here).
STEP 1 - Introduce yourself by registering on our forum, and posting an introduction thread inside the
'Forum Introductions (Public)' board. The more you let us see your personality, the better - feel free to be as long-winded as you please.
STEP 2 - Increase your post count on the forums to a total of '15' posts, and we highly suggest you spend a few days on our forums to help yourself become familiar and help us get to know you better. We do stress forum activity in addition to in-game activity, so this allows you to illustrate that you are compatible with that expectation. On the flip-side, it also lets us see more of your personality, thus allowing us to make a better judgment when it comes time to accept or deny your application. We also suggest you
take a look at our charter and start to become familiar with the ins and outs of the guild structure.
Now stop, and take a breath. Re-read step 2 again. Remember we want to see as much of your personality as possible, and the better you know us and the better we know you (which may take more than 15 posts), the better it is to move on to the next step.
STEP 3 - Submit an Initial Application! To do so, follow the link at the bottom of this page.
Remember, these principles apply; focus on length, legibility, level of completion, and content. Our Community Manager will conduct a quick review of your application to ensure it is up to par, and if he thinks that it meets the minimum requirements, he will post it for the entire community to review. It will then be voted on by everyone in the guild. This stage takes a minimum of five days, but that can increase on occasion. Then, if you receive a majority vote, you're into the next stage! If you're denied admission, don't give up hope! You can still try two more times. You may need to refocus your efforts on the process of helping us know you better or getting to know us better.
STEP 4 - Once Step 3 is completed you'll be entered, automatically, into a Continued Application where you will be reviewed by your peers during a twenty day trial period. This is entirely automated and all that is required of you is to carry on as a new member of Eternal Vigilance and hopefully be accepted as a full member with all the rights that grants!
That's it. It may seem fairly easy and straightforward, but in a way, it is also very complex. There are a lot of background variables that we take into account and our members do give a lot of scrutiny to your application and conduct before they place a vote. This is doubly true during your trial, where your conduct and actions will be considered against your membership. It is
very wise to do a little 'campaigning' for your admission by simply downloading Xfire and logging on to chat with our members - secure some friendships, and lay the foundation for an enjoyable future with your future 'second family.' Best of luck!
When you have introduced yourself and posted on the forums 15 times, you may proceed to the application by clicking below.
